Autumn is our favourite season here at Heat Holders! It gives us the perfect excuse to break out all our warming products and hibernate in luxury until the sun makes an appearance again next year.

Today, Wednesday 23rd September, is Autumn Equinox which happens when the equator passes the centre of the sun and means that the north and south poles of the earth are not tilted towards or away from the sun; they are perfectly aligned which gives the same amount of daylight in both of the hemispheres. After the autumnal equinox, the days get shorter and the nights get longer, which signifies so many exciting events to come! Here’s to Halloween, Bonfire night, Christmas and New Year.

One of the most popular ways to see autumn is to appreciate the changing colours of the leaves. Grizedale in the Lake District is the perfect place to see the changing of the leaves. It has lots of sculpture trails and a GoApe site if you want to do something fun, but the natural pines and the woodland is a wonderful site in itself. There are walking and biking trails a plenty, with the forest situated between the breath-taking Windermere and Coniston lakes.
