The 10th August is National Lazy Day, and let’s face it, we all deserve a break. With busy work schedules and exciting summer activities at the forefront of our minds, it can be nice to switch off and have a day to simply do very little! Whether spent on your own relaxing, or with your family, we should all make the most of this one day! We have compiled a list of ideas to help you relax while also entertaining the whole family.

1. Watch a film with the family

A simple idea, but also one that is very often overlooked! Many people find it hard and even feel guilty to leave their hectic schedules for 2-3 hours. However, this is an easy way of not only entertaining children but also yourself. Curl up on the sofa with a blanket and a few of your favourite treats, for ultimate relaxation.

2. Take a bath

Baths are the perfect excuse for you to have time to yourself! Baths have been proved to improve your mood as well as having health benefits, such as: relieving skin conditions and helping with muscle pain. You can always add bubble bath or bath bombs for the perfect ambience.

3. Read a book

Reading is the perfect way of escaping real life a chapter at a time. The distraction of reading can also help to reduce stress by taking your mind off whatever you are worrying about.

4. Play a board game

We all have them! But when was the last time you sat down and dedicated time to your favourite board game? Board games are perfect for getting the whole family involved in a fun, competitive activity. It also helps to take your mind off any worries for a couple of hours.
