Here at Heat Holders, we love reading about inspirational stories, and the London Marathon is a great example of special individuals overcoming personal obstacles and putting themselves out for a worthy cause. Here are some of our favourite stories from this year’s participants! Stuart Eggleshaw Stuart was crowned Slimming World’s Greatest Loser in 2014 after dropping an incredible 22 stone over 15 months.

Embracing his new healthy lifestyle, Stuart wants to run the London Marathon as it was something he never thought possible before his tremendous weight loss. Orin Lewis Orin is running in memory of his son Daniel who was the first black individual in the UK to receive stem-cell bone marrow transplant from an unrelated donor as part of his leukaemia treatment in 1999. Sadly, Daniel passed away in 2008, and Orin hopes to raise £20,000 for African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust.

Iva Barr At 88 years old, Iva is this year’s oldest London Marathon entrant, and this will be her 20th time round the 26.2 miles route. Last year Iva was presented with The Point of Light award by Prime Minister David Cameron in recognition of her endeavours. Good lucky to everyone running in the London Marathon this Sunday from everyone at Heat Holders!
