This week the nation celebrated a well-deserved break from the Monday blues, with an extra-long weekend that saw an incredible set of moments take place. It’s not often that more than one spectacle happens at a similar time so let’s take a look at what happened…

The most anticipated birth of the year - Saturday 2nd May 2015 hailed the birth of Her Royal Highness Princess, born at 8.34am, weighing 8lbs, 3oz at the Saint Mary’s Lindo Wing of the hospital. Having gone into labour at 6am, the baby girl was born in under 3 hours, sparking a twitter revelation and outbreak of good wishes in over 1 million tweets. Just 24 hours later Kate & Wills announced the royal baby’s name as Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, who will be officially known as Princess Charlotte of Cambridge. This outbreak of news has made us fall in love with the Royals all over again!

‘May The Fourth Be With You’ – Sci-fi fans everywhere joined as part of the Star Wars fandom base to mark the unofficial Star Wars day and historical debut of the first six original action movies. While most of the world got into the spirit by watching a boxset marathon, a galaxy far away (quite literally) aboard an international space station saw two astronauts watching one of the franchise as Nasa tweeted: "Just watching @starwars. In space. No big deal,"#Maythe4thBeWithYou”

Never before has there been a random concoction of Royal Baby madness and Star Wars mania on a bank holiday weekend. Here’s to the next one!
