For some, there’s nothing better than sport to get the blood pumping! While summer is great for participating, as a nation of sports lovers, the cold weather doesn’t stop us getting out and about to matches, games, races, of various nature across autumn and winter.

Football: The season continues…

Autumn and winter is arguably when the football season really kicks and gets interesting, with international fixtures out of the way until spring. The Christmas games, in particular, are a national institution, themselves. Look out to see if Manchester City can maintain their strong early start to the season, or if cross-town rivals Manchester United can fight back.

Rugby Union: Home Nations Autumn Internationals

For some, there’s nothing better than getting down to the national stadium, and seeing their team take on the best the southern hemisphere has to offer. With New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Argentina, Samoa and Fiji all visiting these isles, fans of Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales all have plenty of tasty matches to look forward to this November.  

Cricket: The Ashes begins!

And while England and Australia will be facing off in rugby, one of the longest-running rivalries in global sport will reignite in the 2017 Ashes series, Down Under. The first Test is due to get underay in November, with highlights including the first day-night test in the competition’s history, as well as the iconic Boxing Day test in Melbourne.
