It’s nearly that time again… Cosy movie nights in, Trick or Treating, frosty mornings, comfort food and cinnamon everything. Although we can’t wait for autumn, those colder days aren’t always as easy to find something for the whole family to enjoy. Whatever you like to do together, we’ve compiled a list of the perfect cosy season activities for you to enjoy this autumn.
Pumpkin Picking Patches
It might seem like a typically American tradition, but pumpkin picking has increasingly become a popular family activity across the UK too. It does what it says on the tin and you get to enjoy the crisp outdoors whilst getting wrapped up snuggly warm. Plus, you now have a pumpkin for carving or even making an autumnal risotto or soup!
There are dozens of pumpkin-picking places all across the country, just a quick Google search away.
Outdoor Spooky Cinema
What better way to get into the spooky spirit than by heading to an outdoor cinema showing one of your favourite Halloween movies? A fun way to view your film favourites, outdoor cinemas are becoming all the rage - especially during those colder months. Best of all? No pricey popcorn as you can bring all of your snacks from home.
Oh, and don’t forget to bring your blanket to hide under for the scary scenes!

Crisp Beach Walks
A couple of months ago we shared some of our favourite UK beaches for a summer stroll or, if you’re lucky, a sunbathe. Now that we’re heading into the chillier months of layers, hot chocolate and frosty fingers, we’re sharing our favourite UK beaches for a crisp autumnal walk. Remember to get snuggly warm and layer up, starting with some cosy thermal underwear.
Starting strong with Porthcurno in Cornwall, this beautiful expanse of sandy shores is the idyllic place for a seasonal stroll. Don’t just take our word for it, the now-famous BBC series, Poldark, also frequently used Porthcurno to shoot their popular series.
Next on the list we’re heading further up north to Robin Hood’s Bay in Yorkshire. Lined with fossil rich cliffs and terracotta topped cottages, you’ll want to take a camera with you on this autumnal adventure.
Finally, we’re nipping across to Wales to the wistful seaside town of Barmouth. Here you’ll find rough shod mountains, deep valleys and overflowing forest space. After you’ve stretched your legs, Barmouth is the perfect place for a cafe crawl to warm you right back up again.
Tree Adventure Course
If you’re afraid of heights, you might want to leave this one out of your autumnal plans. Our next, and final, activity is one for the adventure-seekers!
One the kids will love, tree climbing explorer courses are a great way to get active in the autumn. From zip wires to high-rope walking, test your balance (and your bravery) with an outdoor experience to remember - just remember to keep them warm with thermal hats and gloves.
