Packing Tips for Your 2025 Summer Holiday

Packing Tips for Your 2025 Summer Holiday

You’ve made it. It’s that time of year where the majority of us are getting the suitcase down from the loft, trying to squeeze into last year's summer clothes, and getting ever closer to a week or so in the sun.

Ahh, finally. We can already feel the sun beating down, the splashing of kids jumping into the pool, the cold drink in hand, and the unopened holiday book sitting next to the lounger.

When we’re booking our summer holiday, whether it’s a staycation or a plane journey away, we always forget about the downside to the yearly getaway: the dreaded packing.

Fear not, we’ve compiled a handy guide for making the most of your packing this summer so you can relax and rewind without the stress of panic-packing.

Pack Light

It’s really easy to want to shove your entire wardrobe and the kitchen sink into your suitcase, but no one wants to be hit with a hefty overweight fee when checking in at the airport.

Especially if heading out on a warmer weather holiday, you’ll be dressing far more casually and with less layers than at home. That extra jumper you’re packing ‘just in case’ probably won’t make it out of the suitcase once you arrive, so save the space and leave it at home.

Think about what you’re wearing on the journey too - wear your heavier, bulkier items on the plane so you’re not clogging up space and weighing down your case.

Pack Well

Sometimes it feels like we’ve only placed two or three items into the case and there’s no room left. How on earth are we meant to fit in a week’s worth of clothes, toiletries and towels into such a small space?!

This is where you have to get creative and ensure you’re filling all of the dead space in your case. For example, pop your socks into the shoes you’re taking to save on using up extra room. Remember to opt for lightweight underwear and socks, such as our Lite and Ultra Lite Socks, rather than thick and bulky items.

Packing cubes can also be a great investment, particularly if you’re trying to make the most of hand luggage space.

An oldie but a goodie, rolling your clothes instead of folding takes up less space and creases your clothes less, win win!

Swap Your Space-Wasting Items

Half of the battle when packing for a holiday is finding space for all of your things. Essentials like beach towels and toiletries end up taking up space and sitting awkwardly in your case.

Opting for lightweight and travel-size items is the way forward. Instead of taking a bulky beach towel, pack a microfibre towel that can easily roll up like your clothes, massively reducing the amount of space it takes up. The same goes for toiletries, you don’t need to take your full-sized shampoo and conditioner, head into your local drugstore like Boots or Superdrug and stock up on hand-luggage friendly 100ml versions of your favourite cosmetics.

Now that you’ve got your packing locked down, don’t forget your passport 😉
